In September, 2010, Markem-Imaje made
a $5,000 donation to our 2010 annual Fund Campaign
and offered to match any other business donor’s
contribution of $5,000 with an additional $5,000.
Not only was this a generous contribution, but it
was also tangible encouragement to our Board and
other volunteers.
Our late December report to Markem-Imaje
showed that the largest other non-individual
financial contribution was $2,000 from The
Bean Foundation. Even though we had not
obtained a $5,000 gift from another business,
Markem-Imaje graciously matched The
Bean Foundation $2,000 with another $2,000.
At the end of December, The Timken Foundation
of Canton, Ohio notified us that they had awarded
a $45,650 grant for which we had applied. When
we told Markem-Imaje about this grant,
they promptly sent a check for another $3,000 thus
contributing a total of $10,000 to our 2010 Annual
Fund Campaign!
We greatly appreciate the donations of all of these
organizations. These gifts pushed us over our fund
raising goal and we now have enough money to build a
home this summer on Lot 1B on Dort Street in Troy
adjacent to the home we built two years ago. The home will be sold with an interest-free
mortgage to a partner family who meets Habitat’s
need and income guidelines.
